2015 Amazon Breast Cancer calendar
This Summer sees the 2015 calendar start the shooting, designing, sponsoring, printing and launching process.
ASDA have already shown backing for the calendar and sponsors have been giving generously to make this second calendar happen.
More information to come.
Mansfield Community Market
Myself and Jono Edwards value the community that our businesses serve. Not just on a business level but on a personal level too. We requested the market from the council for a day of community trading. The stall charge shall be 100% donated to the Amazon Breast Cancer Charity and then people can make money from their sales.
BHF First Aid classes
Thanks to Maria Gibson and thelatelounge I were able to set up 3 FREE first aid classes for people to attend. The course covered CPR, bleeding and choking. All essential life saving skills.
Community
Mansfield has so much potential and it's frustrating that there is alot of good people but not many opportunities to improve our town. I have been fortunate enough to create not only fundraising opportunities but educational and awareness raising projects too.
Pregnancy tests for men
I read online that pregnancy tests are able to detect SOME forms of hormone found in SOME forms of testicular cancer. Instead of just 'sharing' the status I decided to take action. I ordered 200 test strips and posted them to any guy that wanted one.
Makeover photoshoot day
Charity is about more than giving money, it's about giving your time.
I put a status on facebook for people to nominate anyone who had cared for someone with cancer. TWELVE brilliant women came to the studio for a makeover and a photo session. The atmosphere was brilliant.
Charity haircut
Alongside Definition hair salon, we hosted a charity hair cut day. People were asked to donate a minimum of 7 inches of hair for the Princess Trust. They're an amazing charity that make wigs for children undergoing treatment that causes hair loss. We also raised £2,000 in sponsorship money.
2013 Amazon Breast Cancer calendar
A 2013 calendar seemed a risk as perhaps being too cliché but judging by the £6,000 it raised I'm now confident it wasn't. 2 sided calendar shot at the studio with guys on one side and girls on the other.
This was the first fundraising I did for my now favourite charity Amazon Breast Support group. The don't just offer support, they raise money to bring breast cancer treatment locally.
I dedicated this whole heartedly to my amazing family x
Project Confidence
It's shocking how many times I hear my friends or read facebook statuses saying their child feels ugly. So I have set up 'Project Confidence'.
Myself and mental health professional, Jane Wilcockson shall be putting together a workshop that teaches confidence, assertiveness and mindfulness as well as coping techniques and empowerment. More info coming soon but please join the group if you are interested.
THE WORKSHOP SHALL BE FREE OF CHARGE BUT LIMITED SPACES.
